Good news from Austria!

We are pleased to announce good news from Austria: the demand-based night-time marking (BNK) of wind turbines will be mandatory in future, according to a resolution passed by the Federal Council last week. A benefit for residents, the environment and not least for the acceptance of wind energy!

LSS has already passed the practical test in Austria. Managing Director Henning von Barsewisch: “We successfully completed a pilot project in Burgenland last year. In Austria, the airspace is monitored by Austro Control, whose server informs us when the lights on the wind turbines need to be activated because there is air traffic in the airspace. Our control system forms the interface between the respective turbine and Austro Control. We are the first and so far the only ones who have already tested and proven exactly what is now being introduced: Our system works smoothly in interaction with Austro Control and we comply with all specifications. Thanks to our experience as a BNK pioneer and market leader in Germany with more than 2,000 successfully dark-switched BNK systems and leading light-off times, we are happy to be available to Austrian operators as a competent partner. We can offer a customized product that uses our expertise to provide customers with a safe, affordable and smooth integration.”

Please contact our colleague Julian Bialk or get in touch via our homepage to be fully informed about the current status and to implement the first projects in good time!

For a safe sky and dark nights.
